CALL TO ACTION: SENATE VOTE

Friday, November 20th, 2009
Back to work Patriots! The Senate lead by Harry Reid is trying to ram through the latest version of the healthcare bill that does include a public option, tax increases, and publicly funded abortions. We can still stop this from getting to the Senate floor where it will be hard to stop. They are voting to put the bill on the floor tomorrow night. It’s time to start calling and plugging their servers. This must be stopped and I believe it can be. The senate is slightly more moderate then the House. Look below for a list of Senators who are on the fence about Saturday night’s vote.  Call them RIGHT NOW and firmly demand they vote “No” on cloture. I’ve also included the local numbers at the bottom. Everyone please try to call at least 5 numbers.

** On a separate note, LGTP will now be hosting monthly social meetings on the first Thursday of every month and event planning meetings for volunteers on the second Thursday of every month. Please mark your calenders for Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 to meet with other like minded people and help plan the next steps of the movement. Locations to be announced shortly. If you can’t donate time and would like to send a monetary donation, please mail them to  P.O. Box 991368, Louisville, KY 40269. Thank you to all those who have contributed so far. We couldn’t do this without you.

Also, I will be speaking for the Louisville Women’s Republican group on Monday at 6:00pm at the Piccadilly Cafeteria on Hurstbourne Lane at Shelbyville Rd. I’m honored to have been asked to speak before these wonderful women.

Keep up the great work everyone. We have to or we have no chance for an “American” future of freedom and liberty. Talk to you all soon.

HEALTH CARE CALL TO ACTION

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Hello Everyone!
I was told to watch Hannity with his guest Rep. Michelle Bachmann on the Healthcare bill and the vote that could be as soon as the end of next week. Here is the Fox News clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIJ6T5ZoppI . Michelle pretty much exposed the bill for what it is, a 2,000 page government take over of healthcare that will send the federal deficit soaring. She has made a call to action to anyone who can travel to Washington DC next week, specifically Thursday to go to all their Reps offices and get in their face about our disgust with the bill and all the federal spending. This week is make or break week with the government takeover of health care in the House of Representatives. If you can at all make the trip, now is the time. It is my understanding that Speaker Pelosi is working to bring the bill to the floor of the House on Friday or Saturday of this week.  She would not be setting that as a deadline if she were not fairly confident that she can line up the votes. Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is working to line up 60 votes so that the bill may be brought to the Senate Floor.  The Senate cannot bring a bill to the floor as easily as the House.  In the Senate, the bill must have unanimous consent to be brought to a vote (which this one will not) or there will have to be a motion to proceed. When the motion to proceed is announced, objections will occur.  After this Senator Reid will file a cloture motion, which will attempt to stop debate and actually allow vote on his original motion to proceed.  For the cloture motion to win, there must be 60 votes. I will be traveling on behalf of the Louisville Grassroots Tea Party. I’ve found a pretty cheap bus ticket that will get me there and back. Please let me know if anyone is interested in going with me. I’d like to take some hand written letters from everyone and deliver them for all of you personally. If you can get me a letter by Wednesday morning to deliver for you, I will gladly go with all the money I have to my name and represent our voice in Washington in this dire time of need. You can give me your letters on Tuesday at the protest. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, you can fax them to 425-9427. I hope to deliver a bunch to Yarmuth, Baron Hill, and Evan Bayh. If you can’t get to Washington, please make the rounds on the phone Thursday. There are several key members we need to target.  We have to stop this NOW before it gets voted on and forced upon us. This is pivotal for the sake of our country and constitution as we know it.

Reminder of Upcoming Events:
